Jewel Bedroom Box

I was recently “house hunting” with a client who was looking to downsize, but still have room for children who haven’t quite “left the nest.” One of the criteria was for there to be three bedrooms, one for each child. I was told by my client that they had located the perfect townhouse, but one of the bedrooms in the basement was “a little small.”

I had a look for myself at the alleged “tiny bedroom” and informed my client that I would have all three kids fighting over that bedroom in no time.

A tiny bedroom is the perfect spot to be bold and daring. Upholster the walls and ceiling in fabric.  The quiet that ensues in an upholstered bedroom is the ultimate luxury.

Kick it up a notch and match the curtains and bed in the same fabric.

I was once tasked with coming up with a concept for a 5’ x 14’ former maids room in a Manhattan apartment. The uber-talented @kateschelter clad the room in a hand painted geranium mural, fit for a teen queen.
